As artists, we tend to fall in love with wood that is not always suited to become functional pieces. Be it the size, shape, or lack of structural integrity, we find joy in creating practical pieces from impractical materials. Epoxy resin is one method that allows us to give new life and durability to pieces of wood while still maintaining the natural lines and live edges.
Working with resin allows us to play with the elements of color and texture in this Maple Burl Dining Table. The resin, a deep steel gray flecked with silver, mimics the natural motion of the grain. We completed this table with custom black steel legs and a stunning mahogany brace underneath for strength and elegance.
