Paramount Wood Co. was commissioned to transform a dilapidated barn into a stunning bar room and entertainment space. The extensive refurbishment aimed to re-purpose as much of the original materials as possible to capture the unique history of the structure. This included utilizing historic timber for the ceiling and restoring the stone walls. The process also included exterior work crafting new oversized barn doors out of Cedarwood. A hand-forged metal horseshoe was designed with the doors for added character, custom handles, and a barn door lock, all utilizing relics from the site.
A complete interior overhaul and refit were also undertaken, including restoring a 100-year-old bar and custom solid Walnut single slab countertop complete with VC Birch cabinetry, hand-forged copper sink, and a hidden entertainment system. Making a previously unused space into a much-loved bar and entertainment area with thoughtful intricate details throughout.
”The craftsmanship and attention to detail of Paramount is superior. The plan included new floors, beautiful beamed ceilings, re-purposing of historic timbers and re-pointed stone walls. New barn doors were sourced from a local artist that really made the bar room special. Colin found unique bronze and copper details, such as lighting fixtures, a sink faucet and outlet covers that are seamless additions to the room. Colin also found old items and re-purposed them. He added an antique horseshoe for the door handle and a copper pipe for the foot of the reclaimed wooden bar.
Colin envisioned the best way to use the space with placement of a custom-made live edge counter, cabinets and sink to maximize the large room. He custom designed a table and storage space for our record player, records and crafted a wooden sign that he placed over the front door of the barn.When we enter the bar, we feel like we are in a five-star hotel bar, yet it is comfortable and inviting. The Paramount team thought of everything and really exceeded our expectations!“
