Live Edge Double Elm Burl
Coffee Table

Okay, so here’s the short story: While traveling in Georgia, I came across this old, heavy piece of wood in an abandoned barn. Covered in layers of paint, oil, and grease, there was no way of knowing what lay beneath. It turns out that it had served as a workbench for decades, so I decided to bring it back to my woodshop in Pennsylvania. There, I could carefully restore its past while giving it a new life and purpose.

With weeks of dedicated work, I slowly unveiled the breathtaking beauty of what turned out to be a wonderfully figured double-burl elm slab. I sanded it to a smooth finish, adding rustic bow ties to preserve its charming cracks, and embraced its history by retaining the original edges.

To complete this transformation, I selected a unique metal base and painted it to match the iron accents. Four coats of Walrus Oil later sealed the deal. This table isn't just a piece of furniture; it's a small piece of history that I hope will find a special place in someone's home."
