Table Top Options
Our most popular dining table is a live edge book match Black Walnut slab paired with our Jeffrey Greene sculpted T Base. As recent home decor styles have favored more neutral, calm, monochromatic palettes, lighter-colored species like White Oak, Ash, and Maple are becoming an increasingly hot trend. As over 50 years of work have proven, live edge tables are classic and timeless; they unquestionably work with any aesthetic from ultra-contemporary to traditionally restored homes from the 1800s.
We primarily offer rare wood slab dining tables that often incorporate other materials such as glass and resin. Our assortment includes: Rare single slabs, which have the most limited availability as they are a single board milled from an extraordinarily huge log; Premium Book Matched Slabs, which are two sequential boards from the same log that create a symmetrical effect in the grain; Divergence Series Slabs, these are created to your exact dimensions from hardwood boards, just not from the same log; Epoxy Resin Slab Tops combine resin & wood to create a truly unique custom result every time. Additionally, you have the option of glass on top of a rare slab or simply on a base alone. For any of these, you can choose to have a natural, straight finished or bull nose edge - or any overall tabletop shape your heart desires!
Some of the most common additional features we offer include wood, metal, glass, and resin inlays; installation of tech grommets with concealed wire management; engraving and etching; custom stain colors; eccentric table top shapes; elevator-friendly solutions; and leaves or extension tables.
Yes! After several requests from our design firm partners in NYC, we added two-piece table designs as a standard option due to the ease of delivery in any situation. This is perfect for smaller elevators, stair carries, homes with tight turns, or any circumstance that needs an adaptable design. Additionally, this feature allows the table to be easily relocated if needed. Please note that we require you to confirm access is possible regardless of the table size, design, or location parameters.

Sustainability
Sustainably sourced wood is one of the most environmentally friendly materials available. It is a renewable resource and acts as a carbon store, which is essential for reducing carbon emissions. Our furniture is crafted without the use of toxic materials and harmful chemicals like VOCs. It is made ethically and responsibly, making a significant difference for our homes, families, and the planet. We take pride in creating fine handcrafted furniture that can last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. We promise to plant ten trees for every piece of furniture we sell. Product Care
Live Edge Dining Tables can – and are meant to – be used and enjoyed daily. While not required, placemats and coasters certainly help maintain the pristine finish. A must is that trivets be used under any hot items, as scarring from heat cannot easily be remedied. We suggest felt pads on any pottery or other decorative items so they slide smoothly on the surface without scratching. Maintenance entails wiping the surface with a damp cloth after use. We provide an initial amount of maintenance oil with each piece, a link to purchase more as needed, and instructions for use. The table prefers to live in an environment with a relative humidity of about 40% and not be exposed to extreme heat or huge moisture swings, just as any fine piece of furniture. As it is made from organic material there will be minor movement over its lifetime, nothing at all uncommon or that will interfere with its stability or appearanc
We have care kits available for purchase to help you maintain your food-safe home accessories. Everything you need is inside & instructions are simple!
Budget
The most common table we make is an 8' x 48" Live-Edge Dining Table. They generally begin at $10,000 and go up depending on the rarity of the slab top, complexity of the base, and size. We are happy to find the most suitable option for your budget and design needs!
Lead Time
In a rush? We have a constantly revolving selection of one-of-a-kind Furniture designs available immediately in our shop! If you're looking for something custom to your preferences, our Custom Furniture lead time is typically 6-8 weeks.

Species
We are very fortunate to be located in a region where some of the most globally prized wood species, such as Black Walnut, Maple, and Cherry, are found in abundance. These species are always in demand, as well as more currently trending species like White Oak and Ash.
Choosing a wood species for your piece can be overwhelming, especially with the range of options we offer. When making this decision, here are some questions you should ask yourself: What color palette do you envision? What is your budget? Are you looking for a very organic & vibrant grain pattern or something more understated? Is this for indoor or outdoor use?
Yes, we work with exotic species from around the world! We source exclusively from a select group of mills to ensure all are ethically obtained and properly prepared.
We do not work with sappy woods, such as pine, nor materials that do not pass our quality checks. This also applies to our locally offered shop services.
Sizing
The size depends primarily on what your space can accommodate and how many you wish to seat. The rule of thumb is to allow a minimum of 3' of space around the table until the nearest obstacle, as this ensures that even with guests seated at the table, others may pass behind them. As for the number of guests, about 24" to 30" is suggested per person. For example, a 9' long table can comfortably seat ten - four on either side and one at each end.
Table Seating

The typical height of a Dining Table is 30" overall, with approximately 28" of space underneath for chairs. Coffee tables and benches have an average height of 17" overall but can be adapted as needed.
Bases
You can think of this decision in three ways: Material—such as wood, metal, or plexiglass; Style—transitional, modern, geometric, soft curves; Legroom—smaller slabs may need a base that allows for maximum legroom; and Stability—this is our main concern, and we are happy to make suggestions based on your slab selection and aesthetic preferences. (link base page here)
Most of our bases are created from wood or metal - both steel and solid-cast aluminum. We also offer plexiglass on particular designs!
We can custom-size virtually any design we showcase that is not made from a pre-cast mold. Providing inspirational images and size requirements is a great first step for custom sizing & design. Please keep in mind that we do not copy the work of other designers. You may certainly commission a completely custom-designed base for an additional design fee. This fee is deducted from your final invoice once the order is placed. (custom base submission form)
Jeffrey Greene is renowned for his exclusive base designs, many of which are copyrighted and truly original. These include the Forest Base, the Monolith, the Steel Fountain, the Tai Chi, and others noted as such. Limited Edition numbered designs include the Twisted Trapezoid and the Diminishing Ellipse.
For wood bases, we typically use a durable monocoat finish. This ensures long-lasting protection while still maintaining a natural look & feel. For steel & aluminum bases, we work with a local performance powder coating shop to finish in virtually any color you choose.
Specific care is given in the initial design of the bases so that they are stable and allow for seasonal movement of the wood slab top. Typically, we mechanically connect the base to the top using threaded inserts for easy assembly with only an Allen key.
Finishing
Our preferred finish for tables & furniture is Rubio Monocoat. This is a 100% plant-based, zero VOC, hard wax wood oil formulated to add slight UV protection, and water resistance and provide a beautiful luster to any wood species. It is easy to care for, and in the event of damage - it's easy to repair. Other types of creations, such as exterior doors, custom cabinets, etc., will be finished with the product best suited to its use.
We offer a wood Graphene Ceramic Coating similar to what you would apply to a luxury vehicle. This coating comes in a Gold and Diamond level and is scientifically formulated to penetrate microscopic pores and provide a bonded layer of protection. This finish aids in preventing and minimizing abrasions, staining, and UV damage and creates a hydrophobic finish, causing liquids to bead on the surface. This product is considered the industry standard in wood finishes.
Our Home Accessory line is finished with a 100% Plant Based Walrus Oil finish. It is completely food-safe!
While our preferred finish applies clear to accentuate every wood species' natural beauty, we offer palette color options that are easy to reproduce from our showroom samples. Additionally, we can match virtually any color swatch if the wood species accepts color treatments. This can vary depending on the type of furniture and its intended use. Common stain selections include darkened, bleached, whitewashed, rustic/aged, and ebonized. We cannot stress enough that our samples may not represent the exact color of your chosen slab/wood species since each wood slab's grain, pattern, and shade are unique.
Epoxy/Resin
Multiple factors play a role in what makes Epoxy Resin pours so darn expensive. Firstly, let's talk about the raw materials. Quality Epoxy Resin, like the brand we exclusively use, costs roughly $200/gallon. Although we can estimate closely how much resin will fill the voids, resin loves to absorb into the wood, so we allow for 1/4" or more to be filled over the top of the wood materials. On top of this, we have to make the mold, flatten & prepare the wood materials, temperature & humidity control the space, and keep the environment surgically clean and sealed. Following the pour, we must flatten the now cured Epoxy Resin slab on our CNC, cut it to the final size, and finally sand all surfaces to a glass-like finish. The process to create a typical resin table is 3-5 weeks from the time we begin. Quality Epoxy Resin work cannot exist without all steps being executed methodically!
We use only the best epoxy resin available worldwide, Black Forest Wood Co. Resin from Calgary, Canada. Having tested various resin brands over the past five years, we have found this brand to be the clearest and highest quality. Our partnership with them as our exclusive resin provider guarantees top-notch cured resin with minimal bubbles or imperfections when we handle the resin pour.
Pick any color or combination of colors you can think of, and we will match it! We use two different types of dyes to create our coloring. One is Mica Powder, commonly used to tint natural soaps. Using this product results in a metallic color & can create incredible depth to a resin pour. Secondly, we use high-concentrate Transtint, which creates a flat coloring. We often use Transtint to create opaque coloring or combine it with Mica Powder for even more unique effects. At Paramount Wood Co., we are known for our "Smokey Gray" color. This slightly translucent tint carries a black hue through the resin while still allowing some light to pass through from the bottom. Most importantly, it still embraces the beautiful view of the live edge.
We can handle Epoxy Resin projects of any size, whether it's filling small voids or a massive 35-gallon single pour. We are capable of pouring up to 4" deep at one time, making it the deepest pouring Epoxy Resin on the market. Please keep in mind that Epoxy Resin pours deeper than 1/4" requires a 7-day cure period.
Caring for an Epoxy Resin table should be done using the same suggested method as our solid wood tables - using the Rubio Surface Spray Kit (link to the item in-store). Using proper cleaners helps to avoid harmful chemicals from damaging the natural finish. On top of this, Epoxy Resin tables are always advised to be combined with our Ceramic Coating. This ensures the most durable surface that is also UV-resistant and hydrophobic! This helps to keep the resin color as intended for decades to come and avoid any staining or scratching to the surface. In the event an Epoxy Resin table is damaged, we are always happy to repair the damage and refinish the table. This does carry a refinishing cost.

Sourcing
We have an outstanding relationship with several local mills and a vetted global network of sustainable exotic wood mills.
